PM calls Sindh Governor

Prime Minister Imran Khan called Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and expressed concern over the recent rains in the province. The Prime Minister directed the Governor of Sindh to intensify the relief efforts and said that Karachi would not be left alone in this difficult hour, food should be delivered to the people trapped in the water and arrangements should be made for their early evacuation.

Power outage



The power system in the city has also been disrupted after the rains and due to the rains, a large part of the city has been without power for five hours while power outages are continuing in many areas.

Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz said that low pressure turf is still present in Arabian Sea and South Indus. A turf is also entering from Balochistan from the west. Clouds are falling in Karachi under the effect of turf.

Rangers engaged in food supply

Sindh Rangers said that for citizen help, contact 1101 helpline or 9001111-0347 through WhatsApp. Relief and rescue operations are underway by Sindh Rangers while Rangers are cooperating with NGOs to provide food in the affected areas.

Rainfall statistics released

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum rainfall was 130 mm at Faisal Base, 105 mm at Nazim, 98.5 mm at PAF Masroor Base, 82.5 mm at Kemari Main and 80.2 mm at North Karachi. Meter rain was recorded at Jinnah Terminal 80.2 mm, Landhi 74.3 mm, Surjani Town 73 mm, Saadi Town 72 mm, University Road 67.4 mm and Gulshan-e-Hadid 30 mm.

Due to bad weather, flights were diverted

According to airport officials, due to bad weather in Karachi, flights from Islamabad and Lahore are being diverted to Nawabshah.

The worst monsoon rains in 90 years

The water level in Hub Dam has crossed the mark of 338 feet after 13 years, while the discharge of excess water from the dam could start at any time today. In view of the situation, the district administration is evacuating the settlements below the Hab Dam.
