ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has opposed the filing of a case against American journalist Cynthia de Richie.



Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani heard a petition seeking registration of a case against Cynthia de Richie, a US citizen. State Azad Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of PPP Islamabad President Shakeel Abbasi.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted its written reply to the court order. In its reply, the FIA ​​opposed the case against Cynthia de Richie. According to the law, a complaint can be lodged against Benazir Bhutto's family. Petitioner Shakeel Abbasi is not an affected party. The court issued notices to Cynthia Richie and PTA seeking a reply by June 13.
PPP's position

The court heard a petition filed by PPP Islamabad president Shakeel Abbasi alleging that American journalist Cynthia de Richie had launched a campaign against Benazir Bhutto on social media. According to the petitioner, request the PTA to delete the tweet from social media and request the FIA ​​to register a case on which no action has been taken. The court should issue orders to register the case.
